Bright Future
Project Overview
Code Spring is a youth-centered tech education platform aimed at helping teenagers across Africa learn to code, build real-world projects, and access mentorship. The team had built a growing community through word-of-mouth, but their brand presence and learning interface were holding them back. Their identity lacked clarity and polish, and their platform felt disconnected from the vibrant, optimistic energy of their students.
They reached out to us for a full transformation—one that would align their values with a visual identity that inspires confidence, while also improving how students navigate the learning platform day-to-day. Our challenge was to create something that was professional yet playful, aspirational yet grounded.
Objective
Our objective was to position Code Spring as the go-to launchpad for young people stepping into the world of tech. We wanted to build more than just a clean interface or a nice logo—we needed to create a brand ecosystem that spoke to a generation full of curiosity, creativity, and drive. The visual language had to feel empowering and local, not like a copy of Western tech brands. Meanwhile, the user experience needed to remove friction, especially for users on slower devices or with limited bandwidth. By building something intuitive, lightweight, and friendly, we aimed to create a platform that students would return to daily—not because they had to, but because they wanted to.
Scope of Work
Our collaboration with Code Spring covered every major touchpoint:
Visual Identity System
We developed a bold, energetic visual system featuring custom icons, vibrant colors rooted in West African palettes, and a logo mark that conveys upward movement.UX Redesign of Learning Platform
We restructured the entire onboarding, course flow, and progress-tracking system to make learning feel achievable and motivating from the first login.Brand Guidelines and Templates
A full set of templates for social media, pitch decks, mentor profiles, and course thumbnails was delivered for the internal team.Accessibility and Mobile Optimization
Special attention was given to screen responsiveness and offline performance, ensuring usability even on low-end smartphones and variable networks.Student-Centered Testing
We worked directly with a group of Code Spring’s most active learners to test and iterate on designs before final implementation.
Outcome
The relaunch of the Code Spring brand and platform created immediate momentum within the community. Students reported a higher sense of motivation and connection to the platform, with course completion rates rising steadily over the following two months. Mentors found it easier to track student progress and provide feedback, while new users were able to onboard faster than ever before. Most importantly, the refreshed brand helped Code Spring secure a round of regional funding that will support their mission across five more countries.
The new design doesn’t just look better—it functions as a daily source of encouragement, reminding every student that they belong in tech, and that their journey is just beginning.
